Chris Orman grew up in Southern California and started his career as a nurse’s aide at St. John’s Hospital in Oxnard. He furthered his training and became a paramedic and firefighter. After marrying, he moved to Washington State where he was a paramedic training officer and instructor, working his way up to the rank of fire chief.Orman has served on a variety of boards and commissions including planning commission, water board, sewer board, trauma registries and the Washington State Fire Defense Committee. He has an associate degree in Fire Protection Technology and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy.Orman and his wife Susan live in Prunedale where he is employed as the fire chief of the North County Fire District. He joined the Salinas Valley Memorial Board of Directors in 2014, representing District Zone 1.
